Ronnie completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields in the south suburbs of Chicago. He grew up in Chicago and attended college in upstate New York. He became involved in collegiate EMS while attending the University of Rochester, and during his first summer of college, he became an EMT, completing clinicals at the same hospital system he later attended for residency. Alongside his collegiate EMS involvement, he became a volunteer medic for an ambulance agency in the Rochester suburbs. While in residency, he completed an EMS elective in NYC that led to an interest in event medicine. His interests also include disaster management and response and water rescue.
