Fellowships in the Emergency Medicine Department
Welcome to the Department of Emergency Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine’s Web site. The Department comprises over 100 people, dedicated to serving the needs of patients presenting to the Emergency Units of Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital.
Critical Care Medicine Fellowship (ABA/ABEM and ABIM/ABEM tracts)
Washington University has committed to providing up to date critical care medicine training to our Residents, state of the art critical care medicine services for our patient population, and innovative research to challenge the barriers of current critical care medicine practice models.
Education Fellowship
The Washington University in Saint Louis Emergency Medicine Education Fellowship is pleased to offer a 24-month experience designed to provide junior faculty the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed as a leader in academic Emergency Medicine. Education Fellows will complete a Master’s Degree with a focus on education, gain experience in medical education leadership, and provide clinical care in a busy urban Level 1 trauma center.
EMS Fellowship
EMS is an exciting and rapidly growing subspecialty of Emergency Medicine. Our EMS Fellowship Program offers broad and varied clinical experience with the unique flexibility to emphasize areas of specific interest to a Fellow.
Research Fellowship
The overall goal of our Multidisciplinary Emergency Medicine Research Fellowship Program (EMRFP) is to allow Emergency Medicine trainees and others interested in pursuing a career in clinical, translational, or basic research to develop the requisite skills required to become a successful, independent investigator.
Toxicology Fellowship
Toxicology is a rapidly growing part of the Department that is committed to providing the most up-to-date training in the management of poisoning, overdoses, and addiction medicine. We provide a vital service at the medical center and the Missouri Poison Center. We accept applicants from emergency medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics.
Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound (AEMUS) Fellowship
Ultrasound is quickly becoming an integral part of Emergency Medicine. Our multi-faceted fellowship strives to train fellows to be proficient in Emergency Ultrasound, education, research, and much more.
